Numaligarh Refinery Limited emerges as highest corporate taxpayer in North Eastern Region

Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) has emerged as the highest Corporate Tax Payer in the North Eastern Region for the Financial year 2020-21.

NRL MD S.K. Barua was felicitated with the trophy for ‘Top Income Tax Payer in NER’ by Principal Commissioner of Income Tax Department, North East Region, Raju Tayeng at a function held by Income Tax Department at Aaykar Bhawan, Guwahati as part of Azadi Ka Jan Utsav.

The Income Tax Department expressed its gratitude for the immense contribution made by NRL to the Government exchequer. The function was also graced by Tokyo Olympics Bronze Medalist Lovlina Borgohain.


According to the company earlier, NRL was adjudged the highest Income Tax payer in the FY 2018-19.
