MUMBAI: NTPC has deferred opening of the commercial bids for its biggest bulk tender for the purchase of 11 boilers for supercritical power plants following a court order, triggering concerns that further delay may cause domestic manufacturers to revise their growth forecasts for 2010-11.

BHEL, Larsen & Toubro-Mitsubishi , and BGR Energy-Hitachi are the contenders eyeing the order after their technical bids were shortlisted.
