Non-subsidised LPG prices cut
Industry sources said that after adding VAT, diesel price in Delhi will now come around Rs 63.72/litre for the bulk consumers in Delhi.
Commercial rates were raised a day after petrol prices of petrol were raised by about Rs 1.70 per litre. There is no change in the price of diesel sold the retail customers or subsidised cooking gas cylinders sold to households, oil industry officials said. State-run oil firms have been given the freedom to charge market rates for diesel sold to bulk buyers.
In the case of retail sales, they have been allowed to gradually increase prices, by about 50 paise at a time until they are aligned with market rates. Diesel at gas stations is currently about Rs 11 per litre lower than international rates. A non-subsidised 14-kg cylinder, which a consumer needs to buy after exhausting his quota of 6 subsidised cylinders, will now cost Rs 904.50 against the earlier price of Rs 942.
