No LPG shortage, supply steady at 28 lakh cylinders daily: Indian Oil

Indian Oil Corporation on Friday said domestic LPG supply across India remains stable and adequate despite ongoing geopolitical disruptions impacting global energy markets.

The company said it continues to prioritise uninterrupted LPG availability for households, delivering around 28 lakh cylinders daily—consistent with normal supply levels prior to recent tensions. It reassured consumers that there is no shortage and advised against panic booking or stockpiling.

IndianOil added that nearly 87% of LPG bookings are now made through digital platforms such as SMS and IVRS, with deliveries authenticated via DAC OTP to ensure cylinders reach intended customers. The company also said it is actively addressing customer concerns through official support channels.

Acknowledging reports of malpractices like black marketing and hoarding, IndianOil said it has conducted over 7,500 inspections, taking action against 141 distributors, including suspending five. In coordination with other oil marketing companies and state authorities, around 68,000 raids have been carried out, leading to 855 FIRs and the seizure of more than 48,000 cylinders.

Reiterating its commitment, the company said it is focused on ensuring seamless supply, transparency in distribution, and strict action against irregularities.
