MRPL wins national safety award from Labour Ministry

The Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL), a subsidiary of ONGC, has won the prestigious safety award for the year 2006 from the Directorate, General Factory Advice Service and Labour Institute, Ministry of Labour and Employment.

MANGALORE: The Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL), a subsidiary of ONGC, has won the prestigious safety award for the year 2006 from the Directorate, General Factory Advice Service and Labour Institute, Ministry of Labour and Employment.

The company has been declared the winner "under scheme-II", which denotes an year of accident-free performance, a company press release said here today.

With a safety record of 1301 days as on July 2, MRPL has set a lofty target for the rest of the oil industry to follow, the release added.

The MRPL had won the Jawaharlal Award for energy performance recently for the fourth time in a row as a result of the continuous efforts by the refinery personnel to excel in the energy management process of MRPL, the release said.
