MUMBAI: Mahanagar Gas Ltd (MGL), the company that provides piped gas to households and compressed natural gas (CNG) to automobiles in the city, said today it will hike prices from midnight tonight by 2.57 per cent due to higher input costs.

"Due to increase in overall input costs, MGL is constrained to increase the price of CNG by Rs 0.85 per kg in Mumbai, a marginal increase of about 2.57 per cent, effective from midnight of October 31," the company said in a statement issued here.

The revised rate for 1 kg compressed natural gas (CNG) in the city will be Rs 33.95.
