Mahanagar Gas Limited names GAIL's Rajeev Kumar Mathur as MD

MUMBAI: Mahanagar Gas Limited today said GAIL's Executive Director (Marketing) Rajeev Kumar Mathur has been appointed as the Managing Director.

Mathur has an experience of around 30 years in gas industry. He has spearheaded many initiatives under various profiles in marketing and business development verticals in his past assignments, the company said in a statement.

His major achievements include successfully negotiating big ticket LNG contracts with international suppliers, negotiating with the government of four countries for sourcing of Natural Gas through TAPI pipeline route, establishing international sourcing desk in GAIL and LNG trading operations at Singapore, procedure to procure the spot cargo, it said.

Mathur co-ordinated the sub group on Natural Gas sector in the preparation of the approach paper on natural gas for MoPNG. He was also associated with MoPNG in the formulation, structuring and drafting of National Gas Regulatory Board Bill, 2001, the release added.
