L&T bags two orders from HPCL JV estimated worth Rs 13,000 crore

"L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering Limited (LTHE) has won an order from HPCL Rajasthan Refinery Limited (HRRL), a joint venture between Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL) and Government of Rajasthan," L&T said in a regulatory filing.

Larsen & Toubro’s arm, L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering (LTHE), won two orders from HPCL Rajasthan Refinery (HRRL), including an order to build a dual feed cracker unit worth over Rs 7,000 crore, the engineering major said on Monday.

The second order is worth up to Rs 5,000 crore for the construction of a petrochemical fluidized catalytic cracking. L&T did not disclose the exact order size but ET had exclusively reported on December 17 that the company had emerged the lowest bidder for these two projects worth around Rs 13,000 crore and was slated to win them.

HPCL Rajasthan Refinery, a joint venture between state run-Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL) and the government of Rajasthan, which is setting up a 9 million ton per annum refinery-cum-petro chemical complex in the Barmer district of Rajasthan. Both projects entail engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning.


ET had reported earlier that HPCL Rajasthan Refinery had received financial bids from two bidders for the petrochemical FCC unit package, and three bids for the DFCU.
