LPG cylinder prices hiked second time in 15 days

A cylinder of non-subsidized LPG is now 25 rupees more expensive. The price of LPG was recently hiked by oil companies. A 14.2 kg cylinder of domestic non-subsidized cooking gas is now at 884.5 rupees in the national capital and in Mumbai.

This is the third consecutive month where prices have risen. The price of an LPG cylinder varies in each state due to state taxes. The prices of commercial LPG have also risen. The price of a 19-kg commercial cylinder in Delhi went up by Rs 75 to Rs 1,693.



There has been a constant rise in the number of LPG users. As of July 1, 2021, there are 29.11 crore active domestic LPG consumers, including those that avail the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. In 2018-19, the country had 26.54 crore customers.
