Kapil Dev Tripathi appointed Petroleum Secretary

NEW DELHI: Kapil Dev Tripathi, an IAS officer of 1980 batch of Assam-Meghalaya cadre, will be the new Petroleum Secretary from Friday. The Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC) made five Secretary-level appointments on Thursday.

Tripathi, who was serving as the Secretary, Department of Public Enterprises, will take the place of Saurabh Chandra, who retired on Thursday.

The home ministry has got two new Secretaries – 1980 batch officer Sanjay Kumar Shrivastava and Anoop Kumar Shrivastava, who will handle the Official Languages and Border Management department, respectively.

Narendra Kumar Sinha, 1980 batch officer of Bihar cadre, will move from the state to become the new Culture Secretary at the Centre. Shyam S Agarwal, also a 1980 batch officer, will move from his Rajasthan cadre to the Centre as the new Secretary of National Commission of Scheduled Tribes.
