IOC refinery functioning normally: official

A fire broke out at Indian Oil Corp's Guwahati refinery, shutting down its crude distillation unit.

NEW DELHI: A fire broke out at Indian Oil Corp's Guwahati refinery, shutting down its crude distillation unit.
No one was injured in the fire, that broke out last evening, has been extinguished and all other units of the 1 million tonnes per annum refinery were functioning normally, a company official said here.
The fire is believed to have been caused by a pump seal leak, he said.
Guwahati is the smallest of IOC's seven refineries in the country.
