Indradhanush Gas Grid clocks Rs 632 crore capex in FY26, project progress reaches 88.6%

Guwahati: Indradhanush Gas Grid Limited incurred a Capital Expenditure of Rs.632 Crores during FY 2025-26, taking the cumulative CAPEX to Rs. 6878 Crores as on 31st March’26. As on date IGGL has achieved overall physical project progress of 88.63% and 75.6% financial progress.

IGGL conducted its 8th Annual General Meeting (AGM) today i.e. on 11th September 2026 at its Registered Office in Guwahati, under the Chairmanship ofBhaskar Chowdary Nettem, in the presence of the Board of Directors and senior officials from IGGL, IOCL, ONGC, GAIL, OIL, and NRL.

The AGM reviewed a landmark year in which IGGL advanced its project execution, transitioned into commercial operations, and expanded natural gas connectivity across the Northeast. The Annual Report for the FY 2025–26 highlighted continued progress on the North-East Gas Grid (NEGG), a nationally important project to build an integrated gas transmission network across the region. The Company incurred a Capital Expenditure of Rs.632 Crores during FY 2025-26, taking the cumulative CAPEX to Rs. 6878 Crores as on 31st March’26. As on date IGGL has achieved overall physical project progress of 88.63% and 75.6% financial progress.


A key milestone was the commissioning of the 392-km, 24-inch Guwahati–Numaligarh Pipeline (GNPL) on 17th July 2025 -the moment IGGL moved from a project-execution organisation to an operational transmission company. Commercial gas supply to Numaligarh Refinery Limited followed on 11th November 2025, marking the start of IGGL's revenue-generating operations. Strengthening the region's gas supply ecosystem further, IGGL received PNGRB authorisation on 20th February 2026 for the 175-km, 24-inch Duliajan Feeder Line, designed with a capacity of 3.5 MMSCMD to carry indigenous natural gas from OIL's sources into the National Gas Grid through IGGL's network.

Another landmark moment came on 13th March 2026, when Phase-I of the North East Gas Grid, spanning 553 km, was dedicated to the Nation by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi — a major advancement in building a robust gas transmission ecosystem for the Northeast. Around the same time, IGGL achieved gas-in for North East Gas Distribution Company Limited (NEGDCL) from SV-05 of the GNPL, extending access to natural gas and enabling downstream distribution infrastructure in the region. In a further landmark for regional connectivity, IGGL injected natural gas into the Dergaon–Dimapur Pipeline (DDPL) on 18th August 2026, marking the first-ever supply of natural gas to Nagaland through the National Gas Grid.

Additionally, successful gas-in from the ONGC Khoraghat source, marked the first gas flow into the NEGG network from a gas source in the Northeast, a historic milestone in the project's journey.

Addressing the gathering, the Chairman reaffirmed IGGL's commitment to expeditiously complete the Northeast Gas Grid and maximise its economic and social impact, while building an organisation defined by operational excellence, safety, sustainability and long-term value creation.
