The company stressed that it is closely monitoring the distribution network and taking necessary steps to curb hoarding and black marketing of LPG cylinders amid the crisis caused by the ongoing West Asia conflict and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.

In a public advisory, IndianOil urged consumers not to engage in panic buying or place unnecessary LPG bookings, stressing that supply lines remain stable.
"At IndianOil, we are ensuring adequate availability of Petrol, Diesel and LPG across the country. Necessary actions are being taken to prevent hoarding and black marketing of LPG cylinders, with continuous monitoring across the supply network. Citizens are advised not to panic buy fuels or make unnecessary LPG bookings and to rely only on official sources for correct information," the oil giant said in a statement on X.
India takes measures
The assurance comes against the backdrop of disruptions in global oil supply routes due to escalating tensions in the Middle East, particularly around the Strait of Hormuz.According to the oil ministry, Indian refiners have proactively secured crude oil supplies for the coming months, including renewed purchases from Iran after a gap of several years.

Officials told Reuters that refiners have full flexibility to tap multiple geographies based on commercial viability, helping cushion the impact of geopolitical volatility.
Authorities maintain that, despite external pressures, domestic fuel availability remains unaffected, with coordinated efforts underway to ensure seamless distribution and prevent any artificial shortages.
