Indian Auto Gas commissions first storage facility at Ratnagiri
Capacity to store 10000 MT ; daily pumping facility of 1500 MT. Cater to both automotive and industrial segment.
The storage facility which is on lease from Finolex Industries, has the capacity to store 10000 tonnes with a daily pumping facility of 1500 MT. The loading bays are fixed with automatic loading arms which the company claims is the first of its kind in India.
The commissioning of this facility becomes significant to IACL who had announced last year their Vision 1000 programme, as part of the company’s plans to promote 1000 Auto LPG dispensing stations across Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Maharashtra by 2013. Till now IACL was sourcing auto LPG from importers in India.
Mr. Antony Thomas, Director, Indian Auto Gas said “The move to import and store in this facility will have significant impact on the costs as compared to domestic purchase. To begin with, we will import 3,000 tonne of auto LPG by October and subsequently increase it to 8,000 tonne by March and then to 10,000 tonne next financial year.”
The company runs 28 exclusive auto LPG dispensing outlets across Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra APradesh on a franchisee basis.
