India, Turkmenistan ink MoU on cooperation in oil sector

India and Turkmenistan on Saturday signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of oil and natural gas.

ASHKABAT: India and Turkmenistan on Saturday signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of oil and natural gas.

The MoU was signed by Minister of State for External Affairs E Ahamed and Turkmenistan's Deputy Premier and Minister for Oil and Gas, T Tagiev.

It was inked in the presence of Vice President Hamid Ansari and Turkmenistan President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

Ansari, 74, arrived in the Turkmenistan capital yesterday on the first leg of his two-nation week-long tour that will also take him to the neighbouring Kazakhstan.
