IGL to hike CNG prices in Delhi by Rs 2.10 per kg
Indraprastha Gas ltd (IGL) will hike compressed natural gas (CNG) rates in the national capital by Rs 2.10 per kg.
IGL, the sole supplier of CNG to automobile and pipe cooking gas to household, currently sell gas at Rs 18.90 per kg.
"The board has already cleared the increase in prices, but no date has been decided when it will come into effect," a company official said.
The hike has been necessitate because of increase in cost of feed stock that is natural gas.
IGL at present gets 2 million standard cubic meters per day gas at government-controlled rate, but additional volumes needed for its expansion are available at market price which is more than three times of the government-controlled price of $2 per million British Thermal Units.
