B. Anand, the former chief executive of Rosneft-backed Nayara Energy, will now be the CEO of Haldia Petrochemicals' greenfield polymer business.

“Anand will be responsible for driving the new portfolio of petrochemical projects across India and globally,” Haldia Petrochemicals, the flagship company of The Chatterjee Group (TCG), said in a statement on Friday. The company would soon launch a petrochemical project at Cuddalore in Tamil Nadu.

Anand will assume charge in September.

“Anand’s understanding of the petrochemical business and vision to bring growth and synergy within the sector with best-in-class process technologies, sustainability and ESG initiatives and managing global stakeholders is something that we are aligned with and wish to drive together,” said Purnendu Chatterjee, founder and Chairman of TCG Group.
