GSPC to call bids for gas field by mid-Oct
Gujarat State Petroleum Corp Ltd (GSPC) will invite final bids by mid-October from four shortlisted foreign firms to buy up to 30 per cent in its gas field off the country's east coast, a top official said.
NEW DELHI/MUMBAI: Gujarat State Petroleum Corp Ltd (GSPC) will invite final bids by mid-October from four shortlisted foreign firms to buy up to 30 per cent in its gas field off the country's east coast, a top official said.
The state-run exploration firm has shortlisted oil majors Chevron Corp, BP Plc, BG Group and Italy's ENI from about 13 oil firms, which had expressed interest in picking up a stake in GSPC's gas discovery in the Krishna Godavari basin, off southern India.
"We have already evaluated these companies on their technical parameters and will invite final bids by mid-October," a Gujarat government official, who did not wished to identified, told media on Thursday.
"Financial (investment) capability will be the key selection criteria for the final bids," he said.
GSPC is the parent of gas transporter Gujarat State Petronet Ltd, which made its stock market debut early this year.
