GAIL India has awarded the contract for setting up new control systems at its liquefied petroleum gas processing plant at Vijaypur in Madhya Pradesh to GE Energy.

NEW DELHI: GAIL India has awarded the contract for setting up new control systems at its liquefied petroleum gas processing plant at Vijaypur in Madhya Pradesh to GE Energy.

The GE Energy's Optimisation and Control business will supply GE's Mark VI control systems featuring Integrated Turbine Compressor Control (ITCC) technology.

The scope of GE's contract includes design and engineering, equipment supply, spare parts, training and technical direction for the commissioning of the new control systems.

The equipment will be shipped and installed during the fourth quarter of 2006. BHEL-GE Gas Turbine Services (BGGTS), a GE joint venture in India, is responsible for local project management, installation services and customer support, a GE statement today said.

GE Mark VI ITCC systems will be used to replace the control systems currently operating on a GE Frame 3 gas turbine, which is driving lean gas compressors at the plant.
