GAIL clears Dabhol-Bangalore pipeline

BANGALORE: The board of directors of GAIL (India) on Tuesday gave an in-principle approval for laying the Dabhol-Bangalore gas pipeline.
The proposed 730-km pipeline will connect the R-LNG terminal of Ratnagiri Gas and Power (RGPPL) in Dabhol to Bangalore, a company statement said.
Depending on the source and customer tie-up, the Dabhol-Bangalore gas pipeline will be designed to carry 16 mmscd gas and will need an investment of approximately Rs 2,500 crore.
However, the final investment approval by the GAIL board is yet to be made.
