He said he would ask Saudi Arabia and OPEC to bring down the cost of oil, referring to the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, adding: "If the price came down, the Russia-Ukraine war would end immediately. Right now, the price is high enough that that war will continue - you got to bring down the oil price," he told the World Economic Forum in Davos by video link.

He said he wants to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin soon and to get the war with Ukraine stopped.
"Our efforts to secure a peace settlement between Russia and Ukraine are now, hopefully, underway. It's so important to get that done," said Trump.

Meanwhile, he also announced the largest tax cuts in American history to benefit citizens and expressed his intention to tackle inflation in the United States.

"Come make your product in America and we will give you among the lowest taxes of any nation on earth," Trump said
