CPCL Q2 net drops 50%

State-owned Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd on Monday reported a 50.49 per cent drop in net profit at Rs 97.25 crore for the quarter ended September 30 as compared to Rs 196.43 crore in the corresponding period a year ago.


MUMBAI: State-owned Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd on Monday reported a 50.49 per cent drop in net profit at Rs 97.25 crore for the quarter ended September 30 as compared to Rs 196.43 crore in the corresponding period a year ago.

However, total income (net of excise) increased 21.15 per cent at Rs 6621.53 crore for the second quarter this fiscal as against Rs 5465.23 crore for the same period previous year, CPCL, a group company of Indian Oil, informed the stock exchanges.

Shares of the public sector undertaking closed at Rs 182.40, down 1.49 per cent on the BSE.
