Chatterjee hopeful of finalisation of gas pipeline project
Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee on Wednesday hoped that the proposed multi-billion dollar India-Pakistan-Iran gas pipeline project will be finalised soon.
Chatterjee expressed his hope for the project during his meeting with Iran Ambassador Sayed Mehdi Nabizadeh here. He also discussed situation in West Asia and Afghanistan during the meeting.
Chatterjee said that India and Iran are old friends. He said that there is lot of scope for cooperation between India and Iran in various spheres, including culture and education.
Nabizadeh said that India and Iran have many things in common. He stressed the need for exchange of views in many areas.
