BPCL employees threaten to go on strike

Employees of Bharat Petroleum Corp Ltd (BPCL) have threatened to go on strike to press for their demand of increased performance linked incentive scheme (PLIS) for the last two financial years.

NEW DELHI: Employees of Bharat Petroleum Corp Ltd (BPCL) have threatened to go on strike to press for their demand of increased performance linked incentive scheme (PLIS) for the last two financial years.

The employees have asked for the PLIS to be calculated on the basis of actual basic pay and dearness allowance drawn by employees instead of finalising it in lieu of ex gratia for the financial years 2004-05 and 2005-06.

"In the event of the above genuine demand is not met by the Management, the unions wil be compelled to resort to industrial action programmes including strike on September 19 and 20," the workers said in a statement.
