Balwinder Singh Canth takes over as IOC Director

A Commerce Graduate, Canth has a Master's degree in Personnel Management & Industrial Relations from Punjab University and is an LLB from DU.

NEW DELHI: Balwinder Singh Canth has taken over ast Director ( Marketing) of Indian Oil Corp - the nation's largest oil firm.

He succeeds M Nene, who superannuated in December 2014.

"Prior to his appointment as Director (Marketing), Canth was Executive Director (Consumer Sales) at IOC's Marketing Headquarters in Mumbai," the company said in a statement here.

A Commerce Graduate, Canth has a Master's degree in Personnel Management & Industrial Relations (PM&IR) from Punjab University and is an LLB from Delhi University.

Having joined IOC in 1983, he has handled a variety of portfolios, including varied assignments in human resources, retail, operations and consumer sales.

"He brings to the board his expertise as a business head of three geographically and culturally diverse and complex states - Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana," it added.
