Aban Offshore terminates contract with Husky Oil China
Offshore drilling and oil field services provider Aban Offshore said it has terminated a USD 10.53 mn (Rs 4,417 crore) contract with Husky Oil China.
In May, the company had received a Letter of Intent from Husky Oil China for a one-well contract for the rig Murmanskaya Offshore of Russia. The contract period was for 50 days.
"Due to unforeseen circumstances not known at the time of agreeing the LOI, the letter of intent has been terminated," Aban Offshore said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The rig has been mobilised to Singapore and the company is actively marketing the same, the filing added.
In April, Aban Offshore had signed a 34 mn dollar (about Rs 135.89 crore) contract with Exxon Neftegas for the deployment of the jack-up rig Murmanskaya offshore Russia for a two-well programme.
Shares of Aban Offshore were trading at Rs 2,846.90, down 4.88 pc in the late afternoon trade on the BSE.
