At the Bharat Electricity, POWERGEN India & Indian Utility Week 2026, scheduled from September 1 to 3, at Yashobhoomi, IICC, more than 15,000 professionals, 250-plus exhibitors, and over 150 industry leaders are expected to explore smart grids, renewable energy, low-carbon solutions, and digital utilities.
As India's power transition enters its most capital-intensive phase, one in which generation, transmission, storage, distribution and digital infrastructure must expand in concert, the event will help advance a potential Rs 450 billion, equivalent to Rs 45,000 crore, investment and partnership pipeline through 2032, according to a statement.

The cumulative potential of projects, technology procurement, joint ventures, manufacturing proposals and strategic collaborations are expected to be progressed through the platform, the statement said.
The 2026 edition is expected to bring together senior representatives from ministries like power, new & renewable, alongside national institutions, including NITI Aayog, Central Electricity Authority, Invest India and leading sectoral bodies.
The Delhi government will participate as the 'host' state, while Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, West Bengal and Bihar are expected to participate as 'focus' states.

Bhupinder Singh Bhalla, Honorary Chairman, Bharat Electricity Council, said in the statement that the Rs 450-billion opportunity should be viewed not merely as a headline number, but as a portfolio of projects and partnerships capable of strengthening India's energy sovereignty and long-term competitiveness.
Expected participation spans the complete electricity value chain. Leading organisations include NTPC Limited, NLC India, Coal India, etc.
International enterprises and industry delegations from across North America, Europe, Africa and Asia are also expected to explore investment, technology-transfer, manufacturing and market-entry opportunities, according to the statement.
Abhishek Bhatnagar, Director General, The Energy & Climate Initiatives Society (ENCIS), said, "India does not lack ambition, capital or technological options. The defining challenge is converting them into bankable, time-bound infrastructure."
