PANAJI: Stumbras, the largest Lithuanian producer of strong drinks, is all set to venture in the Indian market via coastal state Goa, one of the major consumers of alcohol in the country.
Stumbras will launch its whisky and vodka in Goa on July 11. Goa-based Dolphin distributors will be marketing the product.
"We will be targeting most of the foreign tourists as this brand is not available in India. We expect the most sale through five star and three star hotels," Rupesh Sawant, Partner, Dolphin distributors, told media.
The company will be launching ozone vodka, black jack whisky, Lithuanian gold vodka, Lithuanian black current vodka and Stumbras centenary vodka through a special launch planned in the state.
"Stumbras, a Lithuanian venture, which began in 1906, is the oldest operating strong alcohol production plant," Jagdish J Ghetiya, another partner of Dolphin distributors, said.
