Mallya launches New Zealand wines
Vijay Mallya-promoted United Spirits on Tuesday launched New Zealand wines in the Indian market.
These wines are imported from reputed wineries of New Zealand. They include Astrolabe, Hunter's, Ra Nui and Hawkes Bay.
The portfolio of wine launched included Sauvignon Blancs, Pinot Noirs, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris. The wines would be available in metros in 750 ml bottle.
Astrolabe's Sauvignon Blanc won a gold medal at an international wine and spirit competition this year.
Last week, UB launched French wine Bouvet-Ladubay, which it acquired last year.
"Through our partnership with UB, we will be able to supply India with some of the most outstanding varietals. New Zealand is famous for and develops a broad portfolio for the future," Index Distribution-New Zealand Managing Director Jennifer Woods told reporters.
United Spirits has launched the New Zealand wines through its 100 per cent subsidiary United Vintners.
