Kingfisher Strong named as Asia's Best Strong Lager Beer

BANGALORE: United Breweries Limited on Thursday said its beer brand Kingfisher Strong has been recognised as 'Asia's Best Strong Lager Beer' at the prestigious World Beer Awards- 2013 held in UK recently.

Kingfisher Strong, India's largest selling beer brand from the house of United Breweries Limited, was conferred a Gold medal at the prestigious World Beer Awards -2013, the city-based company said in a release here.

At a ceremony held in UK, Kingfisher Strong was recognised as 'Asia's Best Strong Lager Beer', it said, adding the variety was unanimously chosen as the best by a panel of judges from Asia, Europe and America under Roger Protz - International Chairman, World Beer Awards.

United Breweries said: "Kingfisher Strong enjoys close to 40 per cent market share in the Indian sub-continent and has also been one of the fastest growing beer brands in the strong beer category in India.
