Carlsberg to launch European beer 'Okocim Palone' in India

European brewery major Carlsberg said it would expand the market of its product across India by this month-end.

NEW DELHI: European brewery major Carlsberg, which already sells its strong beer 'Okocim Palone' in some parts of the country, on Wednesday said it would expand the market of its product across India by this month-end.

Okocim Palone, which is already sold in Northern and Western India, would now be made available throughout the country by this month-end.

Okocim Palone is a premium strong beer targeted toward young males and has around seven per cent alcohol content in it, a company statement said here on Wednesday.

It has been awarded the Superior Taste Award 2005 by International Taste & Quality Institute (iTQi), an independent organisation that assesses and awards the best flavors in the food and drinks categories, it added.

In India, Carlsberg operates through a global joint venture, South Asia Breweries Private Ltd, and at present has four breweries in India.
