VoxPop ties up with Threadless Creative Community

VoxPop has signed an exclusive deal with Threadless, a global design community that lets artists share and market their designs, to use their designs on its T-shirts.

NEW DELHI: Online T-shirt retailer VoxPop has signed an exclusive deal with Threadless, a global design community that lets artists share and market their designs, to use their designs on its T-shirts.

"By bringing Threadless to India, VoxPop will be able to provide epic T-shirt designs to its customers with access to 220,000 artists and over 400,000 designs from a creative community across the world," said Siddharth Taparia, CEO at the Mumbai-based VoxPop.

"The association will also allow VoxPop to curate designs from India and launch them on Threadless’ platform, giving Indian artists global exposure," Taparia said.

Threadless, which follows a crowdsourcing model in supporting art, has more than 3.5 million members worldwide who submit their designs online from which the community picks the ones that get made into T-shirts, phone cases, wall art and more.

Taparia said VoxPop plans to sell Threadless T-shirts through multibrand offline stores within three months has already initiated talks with top fashion retailers Lifestyle and Shoppers’ Stop.

He targets to make VoxPop, which also has partnerships with entertainment brands such as Marvel and Disney, a Rs 75-100 crore business in three years.

The startup is currently looking to raise Series A funding of $5-7 million, or about Rs 31-44 crore.

It recently hired Minority as its creative agency for three years after a multi-agency pitch.
