Tirupur knitwear exports clock Rs 15,000 crore in first 9 months this fiscal
During April-December of 2014, knitwear worth Rs 15,000 crore were exported, a growth of 19 per cent and 18 per cent in rupee and dollar terms respectively.
During April-December of 2014, knitwear worth Rs 15,000 crore were exported, a growth of 19 per cent and 18 per cent in rupee and dollar terms respectively, compared to the corresponding period in 2013-14, Tirupur Exporters Association (TEA) President A Shaktivel said today.
The figures had been arrived after consolidating the available bank-wise exports data, he said in a statement.
Exports during the last financial year was worth Rs 18,000 crore.
Shaktivel expressed hope that exports from Tirupur would cross Rs 21,000 crore in 2014-15 with the same growth trend and could touch Rs 36,000 crore in 2016-17.
