SEWA stitching ecofriendly garments
SEWA has launched a high-end, eco-friendly collection of fashion garments under the brand name Hansiba, which would be first released abroad and then in the Indian market.
According to SEWA trade facilitation centre (STFC) chairperson Rima Nanavati, the new collection of fashion garments is a fusion of western design and ethnic Gujarati embroidery work. She said the new collection under the Varakh series would be first marketed in Mexico and SAARC countries and then through SEWAs Hansiba retail outlets across India.
These fashion garments, designed by STFCs design studio, include evening wear, dress material and even saris. These garments have been made from ecofriendly biodegradable material, vegetable dyes and fabrics from organic cotton.
These high-end garments would be made available first in Delhi and then in Gujarat through SEWAs retail outlets called Hansiba. In Gujarat, SEWA stores under the name of Banas Craft would be renamed as Hansiba shortly.
STFC CEO Mona Dave disclosed SEWAs plans to open Hansiba outlets in Mumbai and two other in tier I cities.
