Kolkata: RSWM Ltd, the flagship company of the LNJ Bhilwara Group, and Spain-based Noize Design Studio (NDS9) have entered into a joint venture agreement to establish LNJ NDS9 Global Private Ltd, with RSWM holding a 74% stake and NDS9 the remaining 26%. The facility will focus on premium denim and activewear for leading international apparel brands. The initial investment will be Rs 186 crore.

The proposed manufacturing campus will be built around Industry 5.0 principles, integrating automation, digital manufacturing, artificial intelligence, advanced technology, sustainability and human-centric operations. The partners said the facility will be among India's most advanced green garment manufacturing campuses.

The first phase will have an installed capacity of 500,000 denim garments a month. In the second phase, the facility will add another 1 million denim and activewear garments a month, taking the total production capacity to 1.5 million garments a month.

The project will initially focus on denim, with knits to be added in the second phase. Rooftop solar will be integrated into the facility from the outset, the companies said.

“This joint venture marks an important milestone in RSWM's journey towards becoming an integrated, value-added apparel company. By combining our manufacturing expertise with NDS9's design innovation and global market capabilities, we are creating a future-ready manufacturing platform built on Industry 5.0 principles, innovation and sustainability,” said Riju Jhunjhunwala, Chairman and Managing Director, RSWM.

Under the partnership, RSWM will oversee manufacturing, plant operations, procurement, quality systems and supply chain management. NDS9 will lead design, trend forecasting, sales and marketing, product development, merchandising, customer engagement and international business development.

Rajeev Gupta, Joint Managing Director, RSWM, said the project was aimed at creating a next-generation garment manufacturing ecosystem and strengthening India's position as a global apparel sourcing destination.

“This partnership brings together NDS9's global design expertise with RSWM's manufacturing excellence to create a globally competitive, integrated platform for premium apparel,” said Anurag Chauhan, Founder and Chairman, NDS9.

Aryash Chauhan, Managing Director, NDS9, said the joint venture would provide international brands with an integrated solution spanning design and product development to sustainable, large-scale production.

The partnership comes as Indian textile and apparel manufacturers increasingly look to move up the value chain by combining manufacturing capabilities with design, technology and direct access to global fashion brands.
