MKU bags Rs 100 cr order to supply bulletproof jackets

Defence equipment manufacturer MKU Pvt Ltd said it has bagged an order of over Rs 100 crore from the Home Ministry to supply 59,000 bulletproof jackets for the central paramilitary forces, especially CRPF.

NEW DELHI: Defence equipment manufacturer MKU Pvt Ltd said it has bagged an order of over Rs 100 crore from the Home Ministry to supply 59,000 bulletproof jackets for the central paramilitary forces, especially CRPF.

"Ministry of Home Affairs has asked MKU to deliver all the jackets in the next eight months and it is likely that first lot of jackets will be delivered to CRPF by the next month," the company said in a statement.

MKU was short-listed out of nine companies as the best ballistic protection equipment provider, it added.

The Kanpur-based company said it has been awarded this tender by "MHA (and is) worth more than Rs 100 crore, making it one of the biggest tender of its kind in recent times".

"As industry innovators and leaders we have worked out a design and solution which will surpass the stringent specifications of the tenders and we are confident to deliver full consignment within the time frame," MKU Marketing Head Ruchir Shah said.
