Mandhana to set up new garment unit

The Rs 300 crore Mandhana Group, manufacturers of woven fabrics, plans to set up a garment manufacturing unit at Doddaballapura in Karnataka with an investment of Rs 45 crore, a company official said on Wednesday.

BANGALORE: The Rs 300 crore Mandhana Group, manufacturers of woven fabrics, plans to set up a garment manufacturing unit at Doddaballapura in Karnataka with an investment of Rs 45 crore, a company official said on Wednesday.
The proposed unit, the company's fourth, would have a capacity to manufacture 25,000 garments per day, Mandhana Industries President Karthikeya R Reddy told the agency.
He said the company, which currently has two manufacturing plants-- one in Mumbai and another here – is also building a third one in Bangalore at a cost of Rs 20 crore with a capacity to manufacture 15,000 garments per day.
"This unit is expected to be operational by November this year, while work on the fourth unit at Doddaballapura will begin at the end of next year," Reddy said.
Mandhana manufactures woven fabrics mainly suiting, shirting, dress materials, and bottom weight fabrics for the clothing industry.
