Special trades have been earmarked to provide SEZ status in this region and allow international scale collaboration.
Surat's industrial outskirts of Hazira, Pandesara, Sachin and Udhna are now witnessing resurgence in traditional textile industries as well as influx of multi national project plants in petroleum, dye, chemicals and pharmaceutical segments. and Pardi and Atul are dominant industrial zones offering services in chemical and paper industry.
The Union territories of Daman, Silvassa, Dadra and Nagar Haveli have become hotbeds for cosmetics and aroma oil processing units. Vapi invites manufacturing sector with its collection of major players and small scale industries offering ancillary assistance. The belt is also witnessing a rise in paints, dyes and oil-based manufacture and process industries.
Apart from a professional work environments, the GIDCs and trade zones in this region have been revamped with better infrastructure, uninterrupted electric supply, water connections, common effluent collection, treatment and recycling plants and captive power generation plants There is no dearth of skilled workforce with the ample availability of technically qualified, English speaking work professionals with a balanced mix of work experience and youth to take on the modern challenges with a targeted approach.
