Knitwear exporters seek separate Export policy for TN
TEA today sought a separate State Export Policy for Tamil Nadu in line with Foreign Trade Policy of the Centre, to give focused approach to exports from the state.
To formulate the policy, Tamil Nadu Government should establish a TN State Export Board, under the Chairmanship of Chief minister and Senior Officials, presidents and Chairmen of leading trade associations actively involved in exports as members TEA President A.Shaktivel suggested.
In a pre-budget memorandum presented to the Chief Minister, Shaktivel said the exporting units here have already taken steps to set up Solar Power Plants, as per the Tamil Nadu Solar power policy to generate 3,000 MW in three years.
As the cost of establishment was on higher side, land registratioin fee has to be exempted for setting up solar park and wheeling charge has to be exmpeted as in Andhra Pradesh, he said.
Besides, there was a need for a separate dedicated power station in Tirupur for the benefit of knitwear sector, Shaktivel added.
