Kids wear brand Poney enters partners with Franchise India
Malaysian kids wear brand Poney has partnered with integrated franchise solution company Franchise India to expand its presence in the Indian market.
“Ajanta has aggressive plans to develop and expand the Poney brand in the country which will see the opening of multiple exclusive brand outlets and shop-in-shops across metros and tier 1 cities in the country in the first five years,” the statement said.
Ajanta International head Rajat Kapoor said: “We believe that kids-wear is going to become the hottest fashion segment in the coming years. With the kind of price points and positioning that Poney enjoys, we can make this a scalable and popular business model in India.”
Gaurav Marya, chairman at Franchise India, said: “The kids wear market is posting growth of 17%, making it one of the most attractive categories in the apparel market, in the country.” Poney has three brands in its portfolio: Poney, Baby Poney and Poney Enfants.
