INVISTA joins the sustainable apparel coalition

AHMEDABAD: The SAC is a group representing over 60 leading apparel and footwear brands, retailers, suppliers, nonprofits and non-governmental organisations working to reduce the environmental and social impacts of apparel and footwear products around the world.

A Sustainable Apparel Index tool called The Higg Index enables companies to evaluate material types, products, facilities and processes based on a range of environmental and product design choices to achieve their sustainability goals.

INVISTA said it will collaborate with the SAC to provide data and resources for both The Higg Index and selected working groups. The business will also work with select partners to better understand the impact of the manufacturing process, garment performance and garment care and how these factors may be incorporated into the current materials assessment, the company said in a statement.
