The Bombay High Court has restrained Mumbai Khadi and Village Industries Association (MKVIA) from using the word ‘Khadi’ and its logo that contains a ‘Charkha’ (spinning wheel) until further orders.

The order came on a petition by the Khadi & Village Industries Commission (KVIC), which argued that the Mumbai-based organisation was using the word ‘Khadi’ and a depiction of the ‘Charkha’ logo in conjunction with its name, which is an infringement of its trademark.
