Aim to achieve $100 billion in textiles exports in 5 Yrs: Piyush Goyal
Goyal virtually met the members of export promotion councils, Confederation of Indian Textile Industry, Tirupur Exporters Association and The Southern India Mills' Association on Wednesday.
"He mentioned that if achieved, the economic value of the sector will be $250 billion collectively for domestic and international," textiles ministry said in a statement on Thursday.

In a separate meeting on Thursday, he called upon the industry representatives of producers of purified terephthalic acid, mono ethylene glycol, fibre, yarn, fabric and garments to become Atma Nirbhar where the entire demand is fulfilled by domestic supply.
"This will secure the raw material availability to lakhs of weavers involved in the polyester value chain, thereby leading to enhanced production of finished goods, enabling realisation of the export targets," the minister was quoted in an official release.
