VIR Foods signs MoU with Punjab govt for food park

It is estimated that the Derabassi food park, which would be set up under the PPP mode, will attract Rs 250 crore from 10-20 processing units.

CHANDIGARH: City-based VIR Foods today said it has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Punjab government for setting up a mega food park at Derabassi in Mohali district.

The Derabassi food park, which would be set up under the public private partnership (PPP) mode, is estimated to attract Rs 250 crore from 10-20 processing units that are expected to come up on this park, VIR Foods said in a statement.

VIR Foods has experience in food processing and infrastructure development. It has two processing units and also exports basmati rice under the brands Nature Gold, Royal Taste of India, Sajda and Kinjal.
