The US is aiming to tap the dry fruit market in India with a California-based company to set up a processing facility here at an investment of about $2 mn.

NEW DELHI: After apples and pears, the US is aiming to tap the dry fruit market in India with a California-based company, which is the world’s largest grower and processor of pistachio, planning to set up a processing facility here at an investment of about $2 million.

“We are looking for a location outside Delhi to set up a processing facility in India for our pistachios,” Paramount Farms vice-president (marketing) Dominic R Engels said. The company aims to operationalise the plant by next Diwali,he added.
