UK’s Twiss Drinks enters India, announces launch of fizzy juice drinks
Twiss Drinks in a tie-up with diversified business house Amarjothi group announced its foray in the aerated natural fruit juices segment in the country.
Twiss, which debuted in London in 2011, has been introduced in multiple variants, the company said on Tuesday.
“A study of the Indian market identified high potential for our beverages. We see it as category development for sparkling juice drinks,” said Nitin Menon, managing director of Twiss India.
Menon said the beverages will be manufactured in Pune and have 10% juice content. To be priced at Rs 40 each and packaged in 250 ml cans, the beverages will be sold through multiple channels of trade, he said.
Last week, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had suggested that at least 2% fruit juice should be added to aerated drinks to help distressed farmers find a market for their produce.
