Tata co talking to airlines, hotels for co-branding Himalayan
Tata Group company, Mount Everest Mineral Water Ltd, is talking to leading airlines and hotel chains for joint branding of its "Himalayan" brand of mineral water.
"We are in discussion with players in airlines and hotel sector for joint branding of our product," Mount Everest Mineral Water Managing Director and CEO Pradeep Poddar told reporters here today.
The company recently tied up with the Taj Group of hotels, also a Tata Group company, for the purpose, and the hospitality major would soon start branding Himalayan jointly with the Tatas. It already has such an arrangement with cinema chain PVR.
In addition to hospitality and aviation sectors, the Tata Group company would also be looking at schools and hospital chains for similar agreements.
The total market for bottled water in the country is worth about Rs 2,000 crore, growing at 25 per cent annually. However, the mineral water market is about Rs 100 crore and the company has about 50 per cent market share in the segment.
Mount Everest Mineral Water Ltd today announced the launch of the Himalayan brand in Delhi-NCR. The launch of the product nationally would be completed in about 3-4 months.
