Tata Beverages acquires Australian coffee company Bronski Eleven

Bronski Eleven has a presence in roasted and ground coffee and coffee pods — or, singleservice portions like teabags — in Australia under its brand MAP.

MUMBAI: Tata Global Beverages, Tata Group’s multinational beverages arm, on Monday said it has acquired Australian coffee company Bronski Eleven for an undisclosed amount.

Bronski Eleven has a presence in roasted and ground coffee and coffee pods — or, singleservice portions like teabags — in Australia under its brand MAP.

“The acquisition in Australia will help Tata Global Beverages further expand its offering in Australia to include coffee,” Ajoy Misra, managing director and chief executive officer at Tata Global Beverages, said. “It also helps us strengthen our portfolio in the high-growth contemporary ‘single-serve business’,” Misra added.

The maker of Tetley tea and Eight O’ Clock coffee is already present in the coffee pod segment in the USA through an agreement with Green Mountain Coffee Roasters’ Keurig single serve machines for Eight O Clock Coffee. It is also present in the single serve segment in Canada with Tassimo, for Tetley tea.

Shares of Tata Global Beverages rose 4.08% to Rs 150.55 on the Bombay Stock Exchange on Monday while the benchmark index Sensex rose 1% to 24,363.05 points.
