STC invites for insurance cover for 7.49 LT wheat import

NEW DELHI: State Trading Corporation has invited bids to provide insurance cover for 7.49 lakh tons of imported wheat which is expected to arrive in India between October and December this year.

The state-run agency on Monday said the cover is for 7.49 lakh tons of wheat which is being imported at a cost of Rs 1,260 crore. This is part of the total import of 7.95 lakh tons in the third tender in the third tender this year.

The last date of submission of quotations is September 26, STC said.

The 'marine open insurance cover' will be from any load port in the world, including Canada, Australia, or Europe, the company said, adding the cover will be on 'Port to Port' basis to be delivered at various designated ports.
