Select spices remain firm on pick up in demand
Black pepper, zeera and cloves prices maintained an upward trend on the wholesale kirana market today on pick up in exporters demand and for the festive season settling with handsome gains.
Traders said increased festive and exporters demand mainly led to rise in select spices.
Black pepper common remained in demand and posted higher at Rs 14,500-14,600 as compared to previous level of Rs 14,100-14,200 a quintal.
Zeera common and dollar surged to Rs 10,900-11,300 and Rs 11,200-11,300 a quintal respectively on fresh exporting enquiries.
Cloves followed suit and strengthened further to Rs 210-230 from Rs 200-220 a kilo.

Ajwain 5,800-9,000 Black pepper common 14,500-14,600 Betelnut (kg) 88-90, cardamom brown (Jhundiwali)11,800-11,900 and cardamom brown (Kanchicut) 13,500-16,500.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 325-400, cardamom (colour robin) 370-375, cardamom bold 375-390, cardamom extra (bold) 430-450 and cloves (kg) 210-230.
